I have been wanting to start a Blog for a few years now. I want to share all of the things that we are trying at Solstice Farm, and connect with others who share the same interests and lifestyle.
Currently, we have six free-range chickens and tomorrow our flock will grow to 20! Today, my husband, my two pre-schoolers, and I set up a 4 by 4 foot box in the basement to get ready for our new arrivals.
We are fostering a momma cat named Zayne and her three kittens: Thunder, Lightning, and Hot Wheels! Right now they are running all over the house like crazy little kittens do! We also have a wild barn cat who keeps the mice population under control and also drives my husband crazy when she poops in all of the newly planted garden beds.
Our hoop house is 12ft by 40ft and we ate a spinach salad out of it tonight! The spinach was planted the day after Thanksgiving and is packed with organic goodness! We have 34- 4ft by 8ft raised beds and we are hoping to plant peas this weekend.
The buckets are hanging from the maple trees and we will be sugaring this weekend for the third weekend in a row. Our fridge is full of the natural sweetener that we love to pour on homemade pancakes!
We work hard to eat whole foods and buy organic when we can. Life is good.

ReplyDeleteIknow you are many things...but a super hero I didn't know was on the list. :) Very sweet pic of you and your family enjoying Halloween. The little one holding the eggs doesn't look like you or anything...lol He's really cute!! I hope to meet your little ones someday.
The kittens are very cute and I love the coloring.
I'm amazed at your garden and can't wait to see more pics of it once it gets growing.
